For a long time, VRS companies such as Convo, Purple, Sprint and ZVRS refuse to invest in building an app for Blackberry where Deaf Blackberry users can use their services such as making VRS calls on their Blackberry devices. FYI, this is not an official announcemnt from Sorenson VRS but this is shared by us, the deaf consumers who love our Blackberry devices. My colleague and I have always been loyal to Blackberry despite the fact that Blackberry World has relatively fewer apps compared to iTunes and PlayStore. To use SVRS, Deaf consumer must be registered with the company, have local number, front/rear camera on their device, and, of course, internet data from any carrier. SVRS made it possible for Deaf consumers to use their native language, American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate with their non-signer family, friends or anyone (doctor, etc). English is not my first language.)įor the first time in my digital life, I finally get to see Sorenson Video Relay Service's ntouch mobile app running pretty well on Z10 with help from 10.2.1!!įor those of you who are not familiar with Sorenson Video Relay Service (VRS), Sorenson VRS is one of the leading VRS industries in USA that provide outstanding service for Deaf and Hard of Hearing while breaking down the communication barriers.

(Please allow me to apologize in advance for any grammatical errors.
